Re: External Links: Manuals, Useful Sites, Information

I made a few changes to the Wikipedia entry. I added info on the different Phases, green flashes, and 12/31/89 recordings. I also created a 3412 entry, but it's not word wrapped for some reason. I also added a few redirect pages for common variations in the model number (DCT-6412, DCT6412, etc..)

Sony KV-30XBR910, Sony STR-DB930, Sony DVP-NS55P, JVC HR-S3800U, Motorola DCT-6412, Sony KV-13FS100, OneForAll URC-8910.

Re: External Links: Manuals, Useful Sites, Information

With the Wikipedia entry getting as unwieldy as the AVS Forum thread, I decided to create a Wikibook and initially start it with information from the Wikipedia entry. A Wikibook, like Wikipedia, can be edited by anybody. What is nice is it is designed to have pages and similar linked together, so you can spread things out.

Re: External Links: Manuals, Useful Sites, Information

I missed SCANPA's post back in February.  I've added that and Andy's to the original post.

Alternative to Comcasts DVR?

Is there any alternative to having Comcasts DVR, I would like to purchase a personal one or build on with an old computer sitting around.

Any assistance would be appreciated

You could always buy a TIVO....

As far as building one, do a Google search for 'HTPC' or 'Home Theater PC'.

Just a note that I have started filling in the I-Guide section on the Wikibook.

Re: External Links: Manuals, Useful Sites, Information

Here's a link with info on the new DCH3416. Looks much nicer than the DCT series.
