ESPNU-HD To Launch Thursday

ESPN is launching their fourth HD channel, ESPNU-HD, on Thursday at 7:30 PM ET. The channel's inaugural broadcast will be the Vanderbilt vs. Miami football game.  The ESPN Network also broadcasts ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNews in High Definition.

The college sports network says it has five TV providers signed up to carry the high-def edition: Time Warner Cable, Verizonís FiOS, RCN, Atlantic Broadband and Broadstripe.


ESPNU HD says it will air more than 200 HD events, including all of its Thursday and Saturday college football games (Live only) as well as exclusive coverage of college basketball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, volleyball, wrestling, hockey and more.
