Re: Been quiet

Fine here, although it would be better if summer would finally arrive in Seattle.  hmm

I'd just as soon not have a Chicago summer (or winter), thank you.  wink

Re: Been quiet

It was 93 here in Savannah yesterday. I've had enough of summer already.

Me too.  Got to 90 here in Lilburn, near Atlanta. No rain in sight either.  Can't wait to see my next a/c bill.

Re: Been quiet

I remember Southern summers well (Alabama), but no a/c then.  The first year in Seattle was a shock, but my blood has long ago thickened up.  I do sometimes miss warm nights (and warm rain).

I didn't have a/c either, until I went away to UGA, 1966.   I now simply cannot believe we lived through those summers. Guess we just didn't know any better. Lots of iced-tea and fans blowing.  Nothing much hotter than southern 100 degree days and nights with 80% humidity.

Re: Been quiet

The last time I visited Alabama (July 2000) we were there in the midst of 13 straight days of 100+, coupled with thunderstorms that knocked out the lights and a/c for hours.  I'll never go back in the summer again.  hmm
