DCH6416 question

I picked up one of the newer DCH6416 DVR's a couple of days ago and when I go to the cable setup menu and look at the information about the box and the software versions the model is stated as a DCT and the software version (74.54-4003) seems to correspond to DCT models.

Is it possible that when I switched out my old DCT6412 for the newer DCH6416 that TWC pushed the wrong software to my box. The other strange part is that if I select channel 159, the box changes the channel to 5 and then switches off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: DCH6416 question

If the box has a rectangular window on the face it is a DCH, if it is oval, it is a DCT.

Re: DCH6416 question

It is the DCH box as the window is rectangular and it has DCH6416 on the front. My question is that if I go into SETUP, it states that the model is a DCT, do I have a DCT or DCH. As I also stated, the software as listed at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use_a_Motorola_DVR seems to indicate that they pushed the wrong software to my box.

Re: DCH6416 question

Don't worry about the SOFTWARE (iGuide). That is the same for all boxes, and it probably hasn't been updated to recognize a DCH from a DCT. The main difference will be the FIRMWARE, which is the 18.xx series on the DCH's. With the wrong firmware, it wouldn't work at all.
