DCT 6412 III or DCH 3416 ?

I am considering swapping a well working 6412 to 3416 for all digital and more storage.  Are there any particular advantages or disadvantages to the new technology?  Is the cable card an issue or ?

Do you really need the extra storage? I don't know how much, if any, faster the DCH3416 is compared to a 6412P3. The only advantage is that it is certified for 'Digital Connected Home'. Even though your 6412 can do analog, if a 3416 is available, you're 6412 is already using digital simulcast for the 'analog' channels. If it's like my system, the only analogs may be a PBS channel duplicated on an odd number (used by some CableCard devices to get the time signal). Here in Chicago, WTTW 11 is true-analog on 94, digital on 11.
