Urge TV?

I just noticed that the channel that used to be MTV Hits is now listed in my program guide as "Urge TV," although what's being broadcast at this point is still MTV Hits.  I can't find anything searching google for Urge TV.  Does anyone know WTF Urge TV is?

Re: Urge TV?

Seems like an online thing, not a TV channel that should be in my guide.  Are they just renaming MTV Hits for a little brand synergy or what?  The article doesn't say.

Ahh...but the MTV Hits article mentions it.  Not sourced, of course, it is Wikipedia after all, which means speculation and semi-fact rules the day...

As of Thursday March 1st, the programming guide on comcast's digital cable service shows URGE TV as the current program on MTV Hits and shows its name as URGE. This may reveal that MTV Hits may soon be relaunching as URGE TV.

LOL - someone removed the paragraph above from the article this morning.  This strange claim remains, though.

Presently, most of the music videos that have ever aired on MTV, VH1, or BET network can be seen on MTV Hits, though the channel usually focuses on airing videos from 1999 to the present day.

If you watch the channel, will you really see most of the videos ever aired on three channels?  I'm sure it means that most of the videos aired on those three channels are eligible for play on MTV Hits, but that's not what it says.

Presently, Frank watches most of the DVDs he's ever purchased.

Re: Urge TV?

It's back to reading "MTV Hits" in the guide now.
